Build New Component

For this example, we will create a new horizontal pump from the graphical elements shown below. These elements were drawn using the Base Geometry tools available from the Tools menu. Follow the steps below to begin the component building process.
  1. Select the elements in the drawing.
  2. Open the Component Manager.
    The Component Build Wizard is launched using one of the following methods:
    • Create component from elements : With this method, you are able to create a new component cell from graphical elements in the model.
    • Create components from cell : This method allows you to use properties from an existing component cell to create a new component.
  3. Click the Create component from elements option from the Component Manager.

    The following dialog displays:

  4. Enter a class name for the new component in the Component Class Name field.
  5. Enter a Display Label for the component.
  6. Enter a Description for the component.
  7. Select a Target Schema from the drop down list.
  8. Select a Source Schema from the drop down list.
  9. Select a Component Base Class for your component.
  10. Press Next to continue.
